Nakea began her career as a ballroom dancer and instructor in the late 90’s. One day her future husband waltzed into the dance studio where she worked, and they got married in 2004. Nakea has three children and has homeschooled each of them since the beginning of their education. Her oldest recently graduated and is working towards her own aspirations. 

Over the years, Nakea has been heavily involved in her church and community where she served on the Board of Directors of her local public library for over seven years. During this time, she was elected by the other board members to serve as Vice President and President of the organization.
