Success Story: Keith and Donna
Meet Keith & Donna
(This success story was written by Donna)
Twenty years ago Geoff Horrocks sold our home in Harleysville, so Keith could take advantage of structural engineering position in Sioux City, Iowa.
Keith's father passed away in November of 2017, we began considering the possibility of returning to the Souderton area to be closer to family. We also realized that our youngest daughter's growing interest in and capabilities with the cello required the expertise available in the Philadelphia area.
Then Keith found that his company would permit him to manage his department remotely, we contacted Geoff again. To our delight, he was willing again to work with us. We knew our home search would be unique because of the difficulty of taking time from Donna's teaching schedule, kids activities and Keith's work responsibilities.
Initial Concerns
Most of our concerns were the unknown-hidden costs, problems, neighborhood safety, and friendliness. We had lived at our previous home for thirteen years. Moving from our friends and church in the Midwest was a major shift.
The Process
In early April Keith flew out to Pennsylvania and I scheduled a personal day so that I could view the homes from our kitchen table. We looked for a place where we could enjoy running, biking and walking with our dog. Yet, because this first visit did not produce an accepted offer, Geoff suggested that he visit the homes for us and once again use FaceTime to visualize and communicate our questions and concerns. Our biggest concerns revolved around the unknown. We asked a lot of questions. Our virtual tours allowed us to buy a house without ever stepping foot on the property. We are thankful to have been able to place this much trust in Geoff, his work ethic, and his integrity.
What Surprised You?
We were impressed by Geoff's efficiency and willingness to go the extra mile. He answered our emails usually within minutes.
What Was Difficult?
Knowing has fast houses sell and feeling like we might have to buy an expensive plane ticket at a moments notice.
For Future Clients:
My advice to a future client would be to do your homework. Research as much as you possibly can about the schools and the homes in which you are interested. Yet, be realistic about what you can live with immediately and long-term. Finally, choose a reliable realtor.
