Matt & Melinda's first home was nice, but upon deciding to grow their family, they quickly realized they needed more room.

The Simkins' first home was a small ranch house with two bedrooms. After having their first child, and planning to have more, they decided “if we’re gonna move into a house with more rooms, we had better do it now while the family is small!" While also living in town, Matt and Melinda wanted a larger lot with room in the yard for gardening, hosting, and room for the kids to play. They loved their old neighborhood, but wanted to have a little more room to “stretch out”.

Matt and Melinda's first home buying experience was less than stellar so they knew they needed to work with someone who knew what they were doing. Previously, their closing got pushed, which resulted in Matt and Melinda being homeless for two days. They had invested over 7 years of life into their old house, and completed many projects to repair and improve the house. Matt wanted to make sure he got a great price in selling their home, but also wanted to sell quickly once they found their new home.

Matt and Melinda found a larger home that they could afford for their growing family, outside of town but not in the middle of nowhere, that allowed them to live the lifestyle they prefer. They are also called to love their neighbors, so having extra rooms allows them to host church small group gatherings and invite friends and neighbors over to spend time together. "We even have extra room for when family comes to visit from out of town!"

The house that the Simkins' found and ended up buying was about to sell when they first found it. Geoff arranged a face-to-face with the sellers, and by forming that personal connection went a long way in having their offer accepted. Additionally, all this action unfolded during Christmas and New Years, and Geoff still made everything happen very quickly when Matt and Melinda asked for something.
